Is Solar right for me? Any location can retrofit solar panels. The important considerations are cost efficiency and practical use. I-V SOLAR, Inc. is here to provide the answers to these questions. Please call us.

What should I look for in an installer? Look for and installer with experience, in the south the technology is new, so look for someone who has first-hand experience in your area.

How are the Solar Panels attached to the roof? There are many different methods depending on your roof pitch and type. Special adapters have been manufactured to install panels.

What’s an inverter? An inverter is a device that converts solar panel “Direct Current” energy into “Alternate Current” energy that can be used for anything that requires electricity.

What’s "net metering"? Net metering is the ability to maintain accountability of what energy you are producing/selling to the electric company.

Do I need batteries? No, not unless you need a standalone system (off grid). A grid attached solar system does not need batteries. In fact, it’s much more affordable without batteries.

What is the difference between a Kilowatt (kW) and a Kilowatt-hour (kWh)? A kilowatt hour is the amount of energy equivalent to the power of 1 kilowatt running for 1 hour. If you leave a 60 Watt light bulb on for 1 hour, you’ve used up 60 watt-hours.

How long will it take to pay off? The factors affecting the return on investment are many, but it typically takes between 5 and 10 years. Among the determining factors are energy consumption/awareness and panel location.

Can I see a Solar Panel System at work? Of course! I-V SOLAR, Inc. is more than happy to schedule an appointment to see any one of our system installations at work today.
